Altova MapForce is an any-to-any data mapping and conversion tool for XML and other formats. Complete conversion support is provided for:
Convert between these formats in either direction, create any-to-many mappings, or chain mappings together for the ultimate in data integration flexibility. Any XML mapping project can have multiple inputs and multiple outputs and combine completely disparate data types.
A common problem is converting XML to CSV and other text formats such as FLF. To get started, simply insert one or more source and target data formats in the data mapping pane. If you do not have an XML Schema associated with an XML component, MapForce can generate one for you based you a sample XML instance document.
In the design pane, it's easy to drag and drop to associate XML and CSV fields for conversion and add functions and filters for data manipulation.
When converting XML to CSV, supported CSV delimiters are commas as well as tabs, spaces, semicolons, or a custom value.
In addition to CSV and FLF files, mapping to or from text files with more complex or custom structures is possible using MapForce FlexText. Legacy text files may contain useful data in CSV or FLF formats inside a more complex flat file. FlexText allows you to directly extract such data using the CSV and FLF operations. After applying Split and other operations, you can store remaining CSV- or FLF-formatted fields by configuring the field names, lengths, etc. for easy mapping to or from XML and other formats.
Customers often need to convert XML to Excel spreadsheets. MapForce makes it easy to define sophisticated data processing rules to write XML to Excel OOXML. Excel versions 2007 and higher are supported.
MapForce will display a graphical representation of the Excel file structure, so it's easy view rows, columns, and cells, as well as references to numbers and names. This component includes clickable icons which allow you to define and specify mappable data for the XML to Excel conversion.
As you design an XML mapping project, the built-in MapForce Engine allows you to view and save the autogenerated XSLT 1.0/2.0 or XQuery code with one click. You can also click the Output tab to view the actual output generated by your XML mapping.
For recurrent XML conversion, check out the high-performance MapForce Server.
MapForce Server includes the built-in data transformation engine developed for MapForce and is greatly enhanced to operate in server environments. MapForce Server performs data transformations for converting any combination of XML, database, EDI, XBRL, flat file, Excel, JSON, Protocol Buffers, and/or Web services using preprocessed and optimized data mappings stored in execution files. MapForce Server takes data transformation to the next level with server capabilities including parallel processing and multi-threading, bulk SQL merge, cross-platform support, and more.
Preprocessing enables faster performance and reduced memory footprint for most data mappings.
