Version 2019 of Altova DiffDog Server became available on October 17, 2018. Learn about all the new features below and update to the latest version.
DiffDog Server 2019 (October 17, 2018)
Support for comparing Word documents (.docx)
Support for directory aliases
Now, like DiffDog desktop software, the high-performance DiffDog Server 2019 supports comparing Word documents (.docx) saved in MS Word versions 2007 or later. Various options allow you to choose whether to ignore or report differences in formatting, blank lines, and so on.
Diff results may be viewed directly at the command line or output to a report in XML or text format.
Support for comparing Word docs makes DiffDog Server even more versatile for performing high-volume comparisons and producing diff reports for a variety of business and development scenarios.
DiffDog Server can now use aliases instead of real directory paths for specifying comparisons. This allows for the use of much shorter file paths, the ability to change to another file path without changing the diff script, and for the file path to be hidden by the administrator for security reasons.
The administrator can configure multiple directory aliases in the server configuration file, and users can see a list of available aliases by running the "listaliases" command before starting a comparison.
