Hi,

I have an excel file(Excel file 1.png) where it states the date for multiple jobs.

I am looking to create a new line for every job under the date.

one job is equal to the 4 cells under the date. Hopefully this makes sense but I am more than happy to provide more information if needed.

I have spent many hours trying to do this but I am getting nowhere!

Please see that attached.

Thanks,
Drew

That's a tricky one. Rather than mapping directly from Excel to what you need as final output, I would suggest you first try mapping to some sort of record/lines structure, where each date constitutes a record, and then each row constitutes lines in those records. Maybe XML would be the best choice, or FlexText. In any event, the idea is first to get past the idea of working with groups of four columns.

Once you have that, then it should be much easier to group the lines by key as necessary.

If you get stuck, feel free to attach your files here.

Or, try Altova's Product Consulting service. I'm sure they can create the mapping for you.
