Topic: Result doesn't pass for error/success handling
Posted: Tuesday, May 18, 2021 1:22:17 PM
You should be able to get the output of the Error Handling step by declaring a variable (for lack of a better word), in the 'Assign this step's result to field.

This screenshot shows an example of it.

Hope this helps

Topic: FTP move

If you are on FlowForce 2021 you can use the system/ftp/retrieve-wildcard feature for this.

Not sure if you can move directly inside the FTP though, you may need to move the file local and then upload to the desired directory on the FTP.

Topic: oAuth 2.0

I am just curious if anyone has experience with the oAuth2 credential feature of FlowForce Server Advanced.

I am using it to access an Azure application and I can get the initial set of tokens at the credential level without any issues.

I can then run the flowforce job to retrieve the data desired from Azure.

But, once the authorization token expires, the flowforce job fails with a 401 not authorized error even though there is a refresh token in the credential that should allow the server to get a new token to run the job with.

So, if anyone has had the same issue and has been able to solve please share.

For the record, Altova Support has been fantastic at working with me to try and correct this but so far we have not sorted out the issue.

Thank you,

You may want to try this with the Join Component, it may lend itself to this well.

It is covered pretty well in the help file, and for a quick review here is a link to a screen shot to part of the help section about it.

No guarantee it is the path forward but worth a look I think.

Topic: Flowforce on AWS

This may not be directly applicable, but we have our server deployed in Azure on a VM with the appropriate cores to match our licensing and have had no issues.

Again AWS may be totally different.

For support I typically just go through the link form their website

Hope any of this was useful.
Topic: Left Join functionality for CSV files in Join Component

You may have already seen this, but if you are running the latest version of MapForce Enterprise addition, that has been updated to support SQL left outer join. Not sure if that is exactly fits your ask as I am not much of an SQL expert.

Can you share your schema and XML file used by the mapping?
Topic: Looking for date or datetime functions

I had the same problem, in order to make re-usable one I simply created a date/time job in MapForce that formats the date from the NOW function how I want it to look. I deployed that to FlowForce and created a job that runs just after midnight to cache the datestamp. Then I just use that cached output wherever I need it. Hope this helps.
Topic: Base64 encode

I am hoping I am just missing this somehow, but I do not see any method in MapForce to convert a string to a base64 UTF8. Can this be done in MapForce?
