Software Support Engineer (m/f)

As a member of the Support Team, your challenge is to help our customers get the best value from our tools and solutions. Cooperating with develop­ment and quality management depart­ments you will have first hand, knowledgeable sources at your disposal for tracking down issues and providing answers to customer requests. You will only work in our office in Vienna no travelling is required.

You will:

  • Be part of the support team located at the Altova headquarters in Vienna
  • Analyze issues reported by customers via web-form and e-mail
  • Report bugs via defect tracking system
  • Develop solutions and workarounds to support the customer
  • Educate customers how to use our tools and solutions

Requirements:

  • General understanding of and experience with Web technologies (XML, HTML, Client/Server environments)

Software Test Engineer (m/f)

As a member of the QA Team, your challenge is to accelerate the deli­very and improve the quali­ty of Altova products used by millions of custo­mers world­wide. Cooperating with the develop­ment and support depart­ments as well as focusing on test plan­ning, execution and auto­mation is part of your responsibi­lities.

You will:

  • Prepare test plans and test cases
  • Execute test cases and check the results
  • Report bugs via defect tracking system
  • Verify defects fixed by the development department
  • Automate test cases

Requirements:

  • Working experience (3 years ++) in SW testing (ideally of MS Windows Software)
  • Experience in programming and SQL databases
  • Basic knowledge of using shell scripts

Technical Marketing Engineer

We are now looking for a talented Technical Marketing Engineer interested in working for this fast paced, creative, international company.

Job Description:

You will be the resident technical expert on Altova’s desktop developer tools and low-code mobile development framework – that’s where your development or coding experience comes in. You will also lead the charge in spreading the word about these products by developing fun, compelling demo videos– that is where your marketing savvy whether traditional or not comes in.

Your job will involve learning Altova products inside and out, developing scripts for content to demonstrate various features, and creating and editing motion graphics for publication to YouTube.

You will also be called on to assist the Marketing team with content creation to discuss and demo new product features as they are released (writing abilities are a bonus skill but not strictly required for this position). You will also join the rest of the Marketing team for occasional travel to tradeshows to meet with potential customers and perform product demos.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Experience creating YouTube / Vimeo / Twitch content to demonstrate software, technology, games, etc. Please send a sample link or two!
  • Extensive experience with screen video creation, editing, and motion graphics software such as Camtasia, Premiere, After Effects, Sony Vegas, etc.
  • Marketing savvy: YouTube SEO, social media, etc.
  • The ability to learn new technologies and development tools quickly
  • Advanced knowledge of common development technologies and query languages, including SQL, JSON, XML, XPath, XQuery
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong public speaking abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently and exhibit a positive, proactive attitude
