至少，这就是我们的目标……

本文将探讨美国证券交易委员会（SEC）的EDGAR数据库中，企业财务报告的XBRL数据质量方面的一些问题。我们将展示一个令人惊讶的现象：从XBRL报告中提取的高层级财务数据与由例如雅虎财经、谷歌财经和富达投资等机构提供的、公开可用的美国公司财务数据之间缺乏相关性。此外，我们还将揭示这些独立服务机构之间报告的数据存在令人震惊的差异。

鉴于这些财务报告对于投资者而言至关重要，人们可能会认为，各种网站上提供的财务数据准确率接近99%，并且与公司实际提交的XBRL格式文件完全一致。然而，事实似乎并非如此。

我们对谷歌财经、雅虎财经和富达投资网站上公布的资产负债表数据进行了详细的对比分析。这三个服务是随机选择的，我们相当确信，即使我们选择了另外三个服务，也会发现类似的差异。为了进行测试，我们对比了约6700家公司的最新季度财务报告，这些公司在XBRL报告中都包含了股票代码。我们的目标是确保SEC（美国证券交易委员会）在EDGAR数据库中使用的内部标识符（CIK#）与更广为人知的股票代码之间实现100%的准确匹配。

由于这些公司在报告财务报表时，对数据的细分方式略有不同（稍后将在本文中详细说明），我们不得不对详细的项目数据进行汇总，以便进行比较。此外，对于超过一百万的数据，我们将其四舍五入到最接近的百万；对于小于一百万的数据，则四舍五入到最接近的千。

金融服务之间的关联性

以下表格显示了，对于资产负债表中的每个主要项目，三个网站报告的数值是否完全一致（“全部一致”一栏）。如您所见，对于一些主要项目，例如_流动资产总额_、资产总额_和_流动负债总额，这三个网站在94%或更多的公司中都显示完全一致的数据。但是，如果您查看_应收账款_或_应付账款_中的数据，它们仅在35%和2.4%的情况下显示一致。这应该引起所有投资者的高度关注！

第二列也很有意思，因为它显示了我们样本中，所有三个服务都存在意见不一致，并且报告完全不同的数据的公司所占的百分比。

最后，但同样重要的一点是，剩下的三列显示了以下情况：两个供应商的数据相同，但第三个供应商的报告结果不同。请注意，这张表格实际上并没有说明哪个数据提供商更准确，它只是显示了他们之间一致或不一致的次数。

如前所述，资产负债表上主要的项目，特别是包含总额的资产和负债部分，通常都比较准确，并且不同机构之间的数据也比较一致，因为这些数据通常直接在公司报表中披露。但是，对于一些更详细的项目细分，存在很多不确定性。

此外，我们还发现了很多情况，即使是总计金额方面，也存在问题 总负债 报告中的数据可能看起来数值大致正确，但实际差距仍然可能很大 一个数百万或数十亿的误差 - 有时，甚至可能因为手动输入数据时出现的明显错误，例如，某些供应商报告的 总负债 截至2014年12月31日，SWC的数值为4.68亿，而之前的数值为4.86亿。

XBRL数据的关联与服务

主要概念，例如“资产”，在实际应用中往往会被分解成不同的组成部分，而这些分解方式可能存在显著差异。以下是一个简单的例子，我们以通用电气（GE）2015年6月30日的季度财务报表为例。我们将官方发布的10-Q财务报表中的“资产”部分（左侧）与Google、Yahoo和Fidelity等平台上的相关数据（右侧）进行比较，并讨论其中的显著差异，同时，根据我们所能推断，展示这些服务可能采用的对应关系：

谷歌财经

一个显著的问题是，谷歌在财务报表中并没有包含所有原始资产负债表中的项目（见左侧的红色条和问号），因此_谷歌报告的_ 各项资产项目实际上加起来并不等于其总资产的数值！ 此外，请注意，通用电气（GE）在其申报文件中并没有明确区分流动资产和非流动资产，但通常情况下，根据美国通用会计准则（US-GAAP），流动资产通常会首先列出。 然而，似乎谷歌将“投资证券”项目归入了“长期投资”类别。

另一个有趣的事实是，与XBRL报告中左侧所示的，将固定资产以净值形式在资产负债表上列报的方式不同，谷歌提供了固定资产总额减去折旧后的净值，从而提供了比XBRL资产负债表实际报告的更多数据。 这种细分的数据在XBRL报告的附注6中提供，但仅以文本形式呈现，而不是以XBRL事实的形式，因此无法从XBRL文件中自动提取，而是需要人工操作员手动输入数据。

雅虎财经

有趣的是，雅虎将官方XBRL格式的资产负债表转换为其自身表示方式，其逻辑和方法似乎都非常清晰明了。唯一的例外是_持有待售的业务资产_，雅虎选择将其归入_固定资产_，而不是_其他资产_。然而，从整体来看，这似乎只是一种细微的差别。至少，它们的数字是相符的，并且资产负债表与XBRL格式的资产负债表基本一致。

富达投资

这里最引人注目的特点是，只有5596个 投资证券 归因于 短期投资, 剩余的33,842元将用于 其他非流动资产.  XBRL 申报文件中，甚至在附注中，都找不到任何能够暗示这种分类方式合理性的信息。此外， 商誉 以及其他无形资产也被计入了 其他非流动资产 而是应该正确地将它们显示在“下面”这一类别下 无形资产. 事实上， 其他非流动资产 从富达公司公布的资产负债表数据来看，该项目似乎是一个比较笼统的分类，涵盖了多种内容。

如上所述的比较表明，谷歌的数据整体上似乎不可靠，因为其各项数据之和甚至无法正确对应给出的总数。富达公司的分类方式不够清晰，有时难以理解，而且似乎有许多项目被简单地归入各种“其他”类别，而不是进行精确的对应。从与XBRL公司申报数据的相关性来看，雅虎公司的对应关系似乎最为直接和易于识别。

XBRL 数据质量问题分析

在过去几年里，我们一直在处理和分析所有XBRL格式的申报文件，并发现有五个主要障碍，这些障碍使得从美国证券交易委员会（SEC）的EDGAR数据库中自动处理/提取数据变得极其困难。

1. 在扩展分类体系中，目前缺乏标准机制来识别特定报告的关联角色

资产负债表报告没有预定义的链接名称，每个公司都会使用略有不同的名称。例如，以下只是数千种不同链接名称中的一部分：

实际上，需要实现一种复杂的字符串匹配启发式算法，并包含“roleType”的定义字符串，这样可以减少一些变体，例如，搜索“Balance”和“Sheet”这两个词。 显然，这种方法并非100%可靠，而且还需要处理链接中的拼写错误，例如 "Sheeets"。

2. 在扩展分类体系中，计算关联数据库通常过于扁平

这些公司通常只提供资产或负债等一级概念的详细分类，可能还会对流动资产/非流动资产以及流动负债/非流动负债进行进一步细分，但它们提供的细节并不足够，无法让我们了解如何计算资产负债表中的其他重要项目，例如应收账款、预付费用等。

这在以下情况下尤其成问题：当自定义概念被包含在某个扩展分类体系中，但这些自定义概念随后没有被正确地纳入该扩展分类体系的计算关联数据库。例如，以下是从通用电气（GE）的申报文件中摘取的计算关联数据库片段，我们在上述映射中使用了它：

3. 美国通用会计准则（US-GAAP）的标准计算方法通常不适用

美国通用会计准则（US-GAAP）分类体系提供了资产负债表计算的模板，这些模板对资产和负债进行了非常详细和深入的细分。这非常适合我们的需求，因为它们的细分方式通常与投资者感兴趣的各项指标高度吻合。

然而，很遗憾的是，标准的计算链接数据库并不能可靠地应用于所有 XBRL 申报文件，原因在于：（a）标准概念的使用并不一致；（b）有时，扩展计算链接数据库会重新定义这种层级结构；（c）标准的计算链接数据库无法处理在扩展分类法中引入的额外自定义概念。
