Package Settings
The Package Settings tab enables you to set options for XBRL taxonomy packages and XBRL report packages.
Taxonomy packages
An XBRL taxonomy package is a zipped archive containing the taxonomy's entry point schema, relationship files, and other information about the taxonomy, such as imported taxonomies and remappings. These options enable you to set how to handle taxonomy packages.
•Open entry point instead of package: A taxonomy package is not only a taxonomy but also a zipped archive. It can therefore be opened as one or the other. Always opens the entry point schema file in XBRL View. Never opens the zipped archive in Archive View. Ask causes the user to be asked each time a taxonomy package is opened.
•Edit metadata after package creation: Always opens the package's metadata file immediately after the package has been created. Never does not open the metadata file after creation. Ask causes the user to be asked, after the package has been created, whether to open the metadata file. Note that the metadata file can be opened at any time via the command XBRL | Package Metadata.
Report packages
An XBRL Report Package is a single ZIP file that contains an XBRL or iXBRL report together with its supporting documents. The options for report packages enable you to set the following:
•Report or Package: When a report package is opened, the option of whether to open the report file or the package file can be taken at the application level (by choosing Always or Never) or at the document level (Ask). In the latter case, each time a report package is opened, you will be asked whether to open the report file or the package file.
•Exclude ZIP files from check: A report package file can have one of the following extensions: .xbri, .xbr, .zip. Since the .zip format is also used for ZIP files other than report packages, you can save processing time by not checking .zip files. It is a useful option if your report packages are going to be only .xbri or .xbr files.
