Quickly zoom in and out using your scroll wheel

Several views across the Altova product line support zooming in and out using your mouse's scroll wheel. Simply hold down the Control key on your keyboard and scroll up to zoom in or down to zoom out.

This feature is useful when you need to enlarge code in the text view of an Altova tool to make it easier to read, zoom out on a large graphical representation to view the whole design at once, and so on.

Ctrl-scroll zooming is supported in numerous views across the Altova product line:

  • XMLSpy text, graphical XML Schema design, and browser views
  • MapForce mapping design and code text views
  • StyleVision stylesheet text views
  • UModel UML diagram views
  • DatabaseSpy SQL and design editors
  • DiffDog text view
  • SchemaAgent graphical schema management view
  • SemanticWorks code text view

The ctrl-scroll zoom short cut is just one of a host of features that work the same way across the Altova product line, making the learning curve between products very shallow. When you're familiar with one Altova tool, working with the others is intuitive.

This is another good reason to check out the Altova MissionKit, which bundles multiple Altova products at a considerable discount.

(Please note: if you're using a laptop or a mouse with no scroll wheel, you can still customize the font display sizes and zoom levels in all Altova tools. Please refer to the Help menu of each product for more information.
