Powerful Editing Views

The five powerful, synchronized editing views of the Altova XMLSpy® 2008 XML development environment are designed to allow developers to work with XML technologies in the mode that best suits their specific needs, allowing ease-of-use and rapid, high-quality development. The XMLSpy® 2008 design pane includes view tabs that allow immediate switching between the different views.

XML Schema/WSDL Design View

Users can create and edit W3C XML Schemas and Web Service Description Language (WSDL) files with ease using the context-sensitive XML Schema/WSDL Design View of XMLSpy® 2008.

The XML Schema specification defines a powerful, flexible meta-language for structuring XML documents. The syntax of XML Schemas can be very complex, and the XMLSpy® 2008 XML Schema editor is designed to simplify the process by representing schemas graphically.

Unlike any other tool, XMLSpy® 2008 allows you to directly manipulate your schema using advanced drag-and-drop and intelligent editing functions.

The integrated WSDL Design View allows you to edit, visualize and validate WSDL files, which are interfaces for Web services applications.

Other Editing Views

In addition to XML Schema/WSDL Design View, XMLSpy® 2008 includes four other sychronized editing views, and the design pane allows you to switch back and forth between views at any time.

The Advanced Text View makes designing and editing XML documents easy with intelligent XML editing features such as code completion, line numbers, source folding, a built-in XML validation and well-formedness checker, and more. You can work with XML data as you would in a spreadsheet application using Enhanced Grid View, a powerful tabular view for performing operations on the document as a whole, instead of line-by-line.

Browser View is included for previewing HTML output, and XMLSpy® 2008 also provides a built-in Authentic View to allow developers to create customized views and data input forms, so that business users can edit any class of XML document without having to posses an in-depth technical knowledge of XML.
