While XMLSpy has always supported editing CSS (Cascading Stylesheet) files, it now provides comprehensive CSS editing features including syntax coloring, context-sensitive entry helper windows and drop-down menus, and screen tips.

XMLSpy provides drop down menus and entry helper windows (visible in the screenshot above) that offer you context-sensitive editing options as you’re editing your CSS documents.

The CSS Outline entry helper window provides an outline of the document in terms of its selectors, which are listed in groups. Each group can be collapsed and expanded, and clicking a selector in the CSS Outline highlights it in the document.

The CSS Properties entry helper window provides a list of all CSS properties, arranged alphabetically. A property can be inserted in your CSS file by double-clicking it. Or, you can use the auto-completion function to insert a property: simply start typing, and XMLSpy opens a drop-down menu of the available properties. You can view a tooltip containing the definition of each property and its possible values by scrolling down the list.

The HTML Elements entry helper window provides a list of HTML elements that you can insert in your document by double-clicking or selecting from the drop down menu that pops up as you start typing.

As you’re working, advanced project management features help you organize and manage your CSS files alongside related documents and perform batch operations, and a multi-tabbed find-in-files window lets you perform advanced find & replace functions across files, folders, and even entire projects.
