Oracle 9i and 10g XML DB SupportOracle XML DB is a new feature of Oracle Database 9i and 10g that provides high-performance, native XML storage and retrieval technology available with Oracle 9i and 10g. Oracle XML DB provides full support for XML Schema and implements a WebDAV repository interface, which makes Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g ideally suited for use in conjunction with Authentic® 2011 for building document frameworks (Web-based XML content applications). Since Oracle 9i and 10g and XMLSpy® 2011 all implement WebDAV, XML files stored inside Oracle 9i/10g can be browsed through the XMLSpy® 2011 WebDAV explorer window shown in the following screenshot:
In addition, XMLSpy® 2011 provides an Execute Query dialog box that allows DBAs to query Oracle XML DB using either Oracle's DBURI or an XPath expression, as shown in the following screenshot:
XMLSpy® 2011 provides an easy interface for listing all XML Schemas stored in Oracle 9i/10g XML DB. The XML Schemas can be viewed/edited in XMLSpy® 2011's Schema Design View, as shown below:
Finally, any XML Schema developed using the XMLSpy® 2011 XML Schema Editor can easily be saved and registered with Oracle 9i/10g XML DB, as shown here:
