After importing jar, the "Generate Sequence Diagram" option is disabled when I right click on methods present in the Classes.I am using Altova UModel 2009.
Can anyone tell me why is it so?
Is it not possible to generate sequence diagrams for imported binaries?

Hi Cor,

Thanks for your reply.
Basically the issue that we are facing at our end is this:-
1. We have source base of a project(say XYZ).
2. This project interacts with other projects for which we do not have the source but only jars.
3. Now if we create sequence diagram of methods in XYZ, will Altova display the interactions of XYZ with the methods present in the jar files?

Thanks in Advance!

Regards,
Santania

Hi Santania

Of course.
You can even generate sequence diagrams of methods in XYZ without importing the jars (but then you will see messages to unknown types).

For sure it's better to import the jars when you have them available. Then you will see exactly which operation of which type is called. Only the method body of the "jars - operations" will be missing.
