Microsoft® Visual Studio® Integration

UModel® 2012 support for Visual Studio integration allows you to view and seamlessly switch between your UML software model and source-code editing windows in the same application development environment where you develop Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2008, or Visual Studio 2005 software projects.

Enabling UModel controls in the Visual Studio Tools menu lets you display all the UModel® 2012 diagram views, helper windows, menus, and toolbars inside Visual Studio as you develop your application.

This tight integration between UModel® 2012 and Visual Studio is especially helpful as your project progresses from preliminary plans to code generation in C# or Visual Basic .NET from your class diagrams and component diagrams.

Automatic, real-time synchronization between the UModel project and your source code lets you refer to and work in either the UML software model or the source code editor, confident that both display the up to date project status. Any change you make in one window is immediately reflected in the other.

UModel® 2012 offers an option in the right-click context menu for class diagrams to conveniently move from your UML model to the corresponding source code, and a similar selection in the source code editor menu to jumb back to your model.

To use UModel® 2012 and Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2008, or Visual Studio 2005 together, you must first download UModel® 2012 Enterprise Edition or UModel® 2012 Professional Edition as well as Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2008, or Visual Studio 2005. (The Visual Studio IDE is not part of UModel® 2012 and must be installed separately.) After you have completed those installs, the final step is to install the UModel® 2012 Integration Package.
