Point your UModel arrows in the right direction

In UML drawings, the transition arrows in state machine diagrams and the control flow arrows in activity diagrams are drawn to indicate the order of events. When you are connecting elements in these diagrams using UModel, your default arrowheads will be oriented horizontally.

It's easy to re-orient your arrowheads to be vertical. Just follow these simple steps:

  • Select the arrow you wish to modify and you will see three fast-editing buttons located along its length.
  • Grab the middle fast-editing button and drag the line to the top or bottom of the element; you'll see that the arrowhead shifts too.
  • Then try experimenting with the other fast-editing buttons. Don't like the results? No problem; just click undo.

If you are not already a UModel user, you can download a free, 30-day trial to check out this feature.
