 | Authentic® 2012 Desktop FAQ
Authentic® 2012 Desktop FAQ Answers- How do I create a StyleVision® Power Stylesheet (SPS file) in which child elements can appear in any order?
To preserve the document order of the elements, you need to create "Contents" or "Rest-Of-Contents". In order to design subelement styles you should use the concept of Global Templates (which are very similar to the concept of XSL templates). The Global Templates are listed under the main tree view in StyleVision® 2012. A Global Template will be shown for each global element defined in the schema. The desired template can be activated by clicking on the element name until a "plus" sign appears. For cases in which you desire subelements to appear in any order, or for mixed content models it is essential to use global templates. StyleVision® Power Stylesheets can only be created using StyleVision® 2012. - How do I open a StyleVision® 2012 (SPS file) in the Authentic® View?
To open a StyleVision® Power Stylesheet in the Authentic® View do the following:
1) Select File/New 2) Click on "Select an Editor template" 3) Select an SPS file from the ones shown or browse to the location and select open. - What is the difference between an SPS and an SPP file?
These two files are not to be confused with one another as they are completely different. An SPP file is a virtual project in which you can organize your XML files, style sheets, DTDs, Entities etc. An SPS file is a form based template also known as StyleVision® Power Stylesheet. This template is created in StyleVision® 2012 and can be used to create valid XML Documents without having to know anything about XML. - Why is there no text view in the Authentic® 2012 Desktop?
There is no text view in the Authentic® 2012 Desktop because Authentic® 2012 Desktop is a product which allows users to edit xml files based on a sps control template (StyleVision® Power Stylesheet) without having to deal with raw xml as would be the case in the text view. The sps file (or an xml file with an associated sps processing instruction) will provide the user with a friendly “html like” view when opened in Authentic® 2012 Desktop, and because the sps file is based upon a schema or dtd, any data entered into this StyleVision® Power Stylesheet will be validated accordingly. It is therefore possible for an end user to have little or no knowledge of xml, yet still be able to create valid xml files. StyleVision® Power Stylesheets must be created in StyleVision® 2012. - What version of Internet Explorer do I need to use the Authentic® 2012 Desktop?
Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher is required to use the Authentic® 2012 Desktop.
