Altova MapForce® 2012 integrates seamlessly with StyleVision so that you can render XML and XBRL output from your data mappings into HTML, PDF, RTF, and Word 2007+.

StyleVision is an advanced graphical stylesheet design and reporting tool that enables you to build design templates based on XML and XBRL data structures.

Integration with StyleVision lets MapForce users automatically render results of their XML and XBRL mappings using an associated StyleVision template design. This very powerful feature essentially combines MapForce's any-to-any data mapping capabilities with a sophisticated rendering engine, meaning that you can now automate report generation from virtually any data format that can be mapped to an XML Schema or XBRL taxonomy.

Creating a StyleVision Template Design

Designing stylesheets in StyleVision is a highly flexible, visual drag-and-drop process. You simply select components from your data source(s), drag them onto the design pane, and specify their presentation and layout properties using the user-friendly entry helper windows. Alternatively, you can layout your design in its entirety and then add content later - in the same manner that you would approach common desktop publishing applications. Once a design is created in StyleVision, it can be used in MapForce to render mapping results.

Assigning a Design Template

To associate your design with a data transformation, simply right-click the output component in MapForce and browse to locate the StyleVision template SPS file on your system.

Once the SPS is loaded, you will be able to click on the relevant format tab (i.e., HTML, RTF, PDF, or Word 2007+) to view your report design. This powerful feature lets you easily render detailed reports based on dynamic data generated from your integration projects using all of the innovative design functionality that StyleVision has to offer.

The example below shows a Yearly Sales report, complete with tables and charts, generated on-the-fly from a database source file.

Customized Analysis Reports
