Topic: Excel 2003 Support in Map Force

Hi,

I tried using Excel as my Input Component in Map Force. It is only allowing me to import Excel Version 2007. Can't I use my Excel 2003 version file? I am aware that we can save it as a 2007 format. But when coming to automation of the map Force where I want to send files to the MFD which I receive from my source, Is that possible to use 2003 Excel version as a input to the mapping design(MFD)?

Please let me know if this is possible and if yes, how?

Thanks in Advance,
Arun.
Topic: All input components of the UDF missing in the documentation
Posted: Thursday, September 2, 2010 10:17:09 AM
Hi,

I have in my mapping a UDF with 10 input values. 3 of which comes from input and 7 will be set empty. This UDF will be used in many instances of my mapping. one scenario it might have all the 10 mapped from input and in few other cases few input and others are empty.

In the output (for 3 input and 7 empty) documentation, for the output components, I get the mapping from three Input components and the first "Set empty" for the UDF, the other input components of the UDF are missing.

I have attached a sample with this mail. I want all to be displayed in the documentation. Please let me know if this is possible and if so how?

Thanks in advance,
Arun.
Topic: Removing the hyperlink for constants from the documentation
Posted: Thursday, September 2, 2010 8:21:07 AM
Hi,

I need to generate a documentation from a map force design. While configuring the output I dont select the "Constants" check box since i think its not needed. Once I do that I dont get the Constants in the output documentation. But in the mapping lines of the documentation, there are hyperlinks present in the constants which takes me to the start of the document. I dont want these hyper links created for the constants. Can you please let me know how do I get rid of them while creatin the documentation?
I have attached a sample of them.

Thanks in advance,
Arun

Topic: Documenting the unconnected nodes of Input Component only

Hi,

This query is regarding the word documentation output that is generated from Map Force. I have a sceanrio were I have a.. say 15 elements Input Component and a 100 element output component. I need to give in my documentation the unconnected nodes from the Input. I can do this by selecting Unconnected nodes from the pop up menu. That works. But I don't want the unconnected nodes of the output component. It is filling up the document pages.

Is there a way to include the unconnected nodes only for Input Components? Please let me know in case if I am not clear with my query.

Thanks in advance,
Arun.
Topic: How to Reset the Auto Number for each file
Posted: Tuesday, August 17, 2010 4:32:52 AM
Hi,

I need a solution for a problem that I am facing in the Auto Number function of Map Force.

I have attached a sample file where the we have a Auto Number function mapping to two Seq NBR in two different aggregates.

For the first XML file I am getting 1 and 2 as the Seq Nbr which is correct, But for the next file I am getting 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2. Basically I need to reset the Auto Number to 1 for each file. But it is incrementing for each file.

Hope I am clear with my query. Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Arun.
Topic: How to Control the order of fields in the output documentation
Posted: Monday, August 16, 2010 2:46:34 PM
We have a scenario where we need to control the order of the elements in the output word documentation from Map Force.

To explain the scenario better, we have a file ehere there are two elements with similar mapping from input to output

Fname and Lname

In Output Documentation,

For Fname, the order of the output elements are
1. .../Name/Officialame/FName
2. Human/Name
3. Human/Name/Officialame

For Lname , the order of the output elements are
1. Human/Name
2. Human/Name/Officialame
3. .../Name/Officialame/LName

I want them in the order
1. .../Name/Officialame/FName
2. Human/Name/Officialame
3. Human/Name

This is just like basically the Inner tags first and then the parent tags in the hirarechal order, which will be easier for the readers to understand the mapping.

How do I control this order of the elements coming in the output? What is the basis of the order. I get different order in different files. They are not consistant.

Since my deliverables are nearing the deadline, your support on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks and awaiting your earlier response,
Arun.
Topic: Documentation of the Flex Text

Hi all,

I am new to the Map Force. I am in need of getting a documentation out of the Map Force Flex Text. First I need to know is that possible?

I mean I want a document with input fields, their position in the file and length. The one which we define using the graphical tool.

Is that possible?

Thanks in advance,
Arun.

Hi Rip,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am sorry that I was not clear on my question. But your reply solved the problem.

I was not aware that "the selection is order dependent".

I had FD01 first and FD01S later. So I think I had that problem. I will try this and will let you know if it is working.

Again thanks a lot for your time.

Thanks,
Arun.
