Topic: How to use if-then-else in XBRL Formula ?
Posted: Saturday, November 1, 2014 3:15:35 AM
Hi,

I am using XMLSpy to create Formula Linkbase.

Problem 1:

I have created the following value assertion formula:

if ($varZB='1') then $varTax =1000 else $varTax = 2000

Goal:
1. This formula will check the value of element called ZB.
2. If the element value = 1 then element Tax value should be 1000,
if else then the value of tax should be 2000
3. I created both unsatisfied and satisfied message

I save the formula and no error is found (valid)

However, When I execute the formula, No message I can get. Unsatisfied and satisfied messages are blank.

Somebody please help.

Problem 2:

How to create if-then-else which has more than 1 line... like the following example:

If $Ba= 123 then
$var1 = 1
$var2 = 1
$var3 = 1
$var4 = 1
else
$var1 = 2
$var2 = 2
$var3 = 2
$var4 = 2
end if

THANKS for help

Topic: error on creating XML based on a schema
Posted: Tuesday, April 9, 2013 3:54:33 PM
I just did a small step i.e creating a new XML doc based on AddressLast.xsd schema. (only this step)

I didnt touch and didnt open the content of AddressLast.xsd, just copied it from XMLSpy folder example, and then rename the file to ExampleAddressLast.xsd

so AddressLast.xsd = ExampleAddressLast.xsd

if I click the schema tab, then I got that error. did u click this tab?

by ignoring the error, I can still can entry data via gridview/textview and also validate the document easily.

thanks

Reread the page. XBRLSpy != XmlSpy. The page doesn't say anything about XmlSpy, or at least a search for xmlspy doesn't turn anything up.

Sorry Rip, you are right Rip, I didnt pay enough attention.
Yes she is the founder of XBRLSpy, but this Altova's product is called XMLSpy.. ;)

I am sorry for this mistake.

She talks about XMLSpy on this link...

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I also just got the answer from XMLspy manual that I got from this link https://www.altova.com/documentation.html

The manual says that:
"New taxonomies can be created in XMLSpy. These are of two types:
(i) taxonomies that are created from scratch; and (ii) taxonomies that extend a standard taxonomy."

Besides the manual, I also learn on how to use XMLSpy in order to create an extension taxonomy from this link http://altova-aot.s3.amazonaws.com/Altova%20XBRL%20Course/player.html

Questions:
1. Do you know where I can get other XMLSpy references (like video, e-book, etc) that can guide me on how to create an extension from a standard taxonomy like IFRS?

2. btw, What is the relation of Altova to Ms. Diane Mueller? According to this link http://www.xbrlspy.org/about_xbrlspy, she is the founder of XMLSpy.

Thanks in Advance

hi,

I am very new to XBRL and Altova products.
As far as I can see in the onine training, The xmlspy helps us create an extension taxonomy.

Question:
What I need is that I want to create/design the taxonomy itself (not only the extension).
Do you think this tools can help?

regards
Romy
