It took me a couple days to go thru the tutorials for MapForce, code generation, functions and library were trial by fire.

For our testing, X12 EDI into Oracle database using Java generated map runing on 64bit Linux system, 8G memory, 500-600 row inserts per second are the best we have hit so far in development enviornments (~300meg input file, 1m logical transactions). This includes validation and inserts. Of the total processing time, the majority is the phyical inserts and the minority for Altova validation.

The database tuning is critical and our thru-put has doubled by property tuning the Oracle database (rollback segements for example).
