Topic: Handling large OWL files
Posted: Thursday, October 22, 2009 9:54:29 AM
Hi,

Has anyone tried working with large owl files? I tried to load up a ~ 140 mb file. It succeeded (after ~ 5 minutes) and was just about usable. But switching to text (and other commands) made it run out of memory. The point of rdf (it seems) is to blur the distinction between structure and content. So you end up with a database in a file (so they tend to get quite large). Is this a good use case for SemanticWorks? Are there other tools out there for managing large rdf or owl files?
