Hello,
how can a XML file with indented element blocks (e. g. pretty print format) be reformatted to get a single line text without any whitespace betwween the tags?

Hello,
is there a view in XMLSpy, where elements of a XML document are displayed in a tree structure and which enables to select an element in this tree view in order to select the XML element block, related, in the Text view?
If yes, how can this view be displayed within the main application window?
To elucidate here an example: <elem1> <subelem11> <subelem111>
Structured view, requested: elem1 + subelem11 + subelem111
The Outline view of the development tool Eclipse offers such a view when opening a XML file; I didn't find such a view in XMLSpy so far.
Although the Grid view is displaying a XML document in a nested table structure, it is not as neatly arranged as e. g. in the Outline view of the development tool Eclipse when opening a XML file.
I work with the XMLSpy 2009 Enterprise edition.

Hello,
the following xml text structure has encoded markup signs:
%3C%3Fxml+version%3D%221.0%22+encoding%3D%22UTF-8%22%3F%3E%3C ...
How can this xml text structure be imported or converted in XMLSpy to be displayed as "visible" xml structure without encoded markups?
And by the way: [How] can it be imported directly into XMLSpy from the clipboard without the workaround of saving the clipboard text as a temporary file?
I'm working with version 5 rel. 4.

... looks like that (original file is company content and thus confidential - therefore somewhat modified here):
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root id="somewhat"> <Header> ... some elements </Header> <Body> <Info><subelem1 id="1" xmlns=somens ><OTHERID>2</OTHERID></subelem1></Info> </Body> </Root>

Of course I can see it in the grid view, but the embedded xml appears only as text, so it's the same as I read the entire xml file in the text view. And of course I can copy the embedded xml into a new file and to view it in the grid view.
But my question concerns the posibility to display directly the embedded xml in a grid view without indirection. Is there a way?

Hello,
how can a xml structure, embedded in a xml element value, be displayed with XMLSpy 5 with the enhanced grid view? That means: The element value itself is a xml document.
Ok, one might dispute about such a structure; I received it and are not permitted to change it; so I'm searching a way to display it in a proper way, if available with XMLSpy.

vlad wrote:...or simply click the toolbar button "Display Attributes in diagram"
Where can this button be found?
I didn't find 'Attributes' in 'Schema design/View config'.
I'm working with XMLSpy version 5 rel. 4 - is it available there?

Hello,
how can attributes be displayed in the Schema/WSDL design view of XMLSpy?

Hello,
when XMLSpy is used with floating licenses, a message like that appears, if the limit of licenses are in use: Sorry, but all n concurrent licenses of XMLSPY are already in use in your network. Please wait for another user to exit XMLSPY or order additional licenses, if the current license limit does not longer suit your needs.
How can be determined, by which IP's or hosts XMLSpy is currently used (to ask those users, if they currently still work with XMLSpy)?
Remark: Of course one can and should order further licenses, if required. But not always those people who use XMLSpy are privileged, too, to decide purchase orders ... (yes we can try to convince the deciders ...) - therefore this question.

Hello,
starting XMLSpy 2004 I've got the error message of XMLSpyLicMan: File "C:\Programme\Altova\XMLSPY2004\insted.txt" could not be found or is corrupted!
I often used XMLSpy 2004 before - without this problem - and cannot remeber having anything changed in may application. The file C:\Programme\Altova\XMLSPY2004\insted.txt is existing, but only contains one character P.
What may be the reason for this problem? How can this problem be avoided/resolved?
