Hi, I've tried to figure this out, but I'm really stumped.
I have an XML file I'm trying to convert to Excel, or at least a CSV file.
Can Altova XML spy Altova Mapforce do the conversion?
I can get the schema into Altova Mapforce...what are the next steps?
Thanks so much,
Michael Cabus

Use Altova MapForce for this. It comes with tons of samples, including CSV and Excel - just look at them. Everything is far too easy.

The Altova Mapforce is the best way to convert to Excel spreadsheet. Their official site mentioned that the Altova Mapforce is able to produce output in the form of:
Excel spreadsheets XML data XSLT 1.0/2.0 stylesheets SQL statements to update or insert databases Flat files EDI files XBRL documents

Thanks for the quick reply. I opened MapForceExamples.mfp. Where in the menu tree can I find an example for xml files to be converted to Excel?
Another issue I have is that I have openened an xml file with Altova MapForce and it doesn't recognise Asian characters as opposed to Notepad++ which reads my xml file OK, including Russian characters, etc.

Try the OOXML Excel 2007+ folder -->
Altova_Hierarchical_Excel.mfd Sales_to_Excel.mfd

Maybe the characters are incorrectly encoded in the xml file, I can't answer this question without the actual file at hand. in general: I would suggest contacting support with the pertinent files and steps to reproduce the situation.
