Authentic can be used for any schema or DTD. Docbook v5.0 is just one of them. An extensive documentation and free online training are available

okay i am going to specify my question a little bit...

i want to use authentic to edit and validate my docbook-files but i can't open xml-files with docbook v5.0 standard correctly beacause the editor seems to have not the right .sps and .dtd file, so that therer are several problems with validating the document...

of course i searched in the documentation and used the online training but actually it doesn't work...

can anyone help me?

The message which you've got when you've tried to open your file in Authentic should have been self-explanatory: "The StyleVision Power Stylesheet for this document could not be found... Authentic view requires this stylesheet... Please use StyleVision to create such a stylesheet for your document". If you do not want to design anything, you can use a plain Text View in XMLSpy.
