Hi,

are you planning the PostreSQL database support in DatabaseSpy? We are using your product and we think it has the most usable database designer on the market, congratulation!

Have you tried ODBC to connect to PostreSQL? Just curious if you got it to work for this one, since ODBC support seems to be broken for many databases, at least from personal experience.

Hi Laszlo,

we didn't yet extend our tools to support PosgreSQL natively, but we've resolved many issues on an overall ODBC support for unknown databases in v2008r2, which was released today.

You might want to try again.

Hi,

I've checked it, but no table references discovered and some of the basic field types (bool, date, etc) discovered to varchar.

Do you plan the native postgresql support to the application?

Thanks

Hi Laszlo,

Native Support for PostgreSQL is in the works and will be available in an upcoming release.

In the mean time could you please contact support with details of what driver and version of PostgreSQL you are using and any other details that might help us to understand why you still can not see table references and to examine issues that you are having with basic field types.

Regards,
Gandalf

Hi Gandalf,

Sorry I couldnt did it, becouse you need a registered customer to send bug report, but I've just downloaded the free trial of your product. But If you can post it to the support:

I'm using the latest PostgreSQL 8.3.1 on windows (I've tried it on Linux version too, 8.3.1) with the 8.03.01.00 ODBC driver (Unicode and ANSI tested too).

Regards,
Laszlo

ps: I hope you will support PostgreSQL soon, becouse your application looks the best which I've tried in the past few months!

Hello Laszlo,

Thanks for posting the details. I just wanted to point out that it is not not in fact necessary to be an active licence/SMP holder to submit bug reports or feature requests to us via the Support Center - we always appreciate such feedback from our customers...
