Altova Authentic® 2012 is a WYSIWYG content editor that allows non-technical business users to view and edit data in XML documents and relational databases without being exposed to the underlying technology. They simply fill in electronic forms using the word processor-style interface, and their content or query is instantly processed. Authentic is ideally suited as the user interface element of XML-based document frameworks and management-oriented databases.

To understand the differences between the Trusted and Untrusted versions, please keep in mind the following:

The Trusted version does not allow access to local files and is, therefore, marked "Safe for Scripting"; it can be used in a browser-based scenario and can be invoked from any Web page without causing security alerts on the client side
The Untrusted version is intended for Intranet deployment, or for using as an ActiveX control in your application; it provides access to local files and is, therefore, NOT marked "Safe for Scripting"; if you try to use this version from within a Browser window, it will ask the user for permission

Authentic Browser Plug-in Enterprise Edition 64-bit version

The 64-bit version of our software requires a 64-bit operating system (i.e. a 64-bit version of Windows Vista or Windows 7) to operate whereas the 32-bit version can be used on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. The Authentic Browser Plug-in Enterprise Edition 64-bit version supports Internet Explorer only. The Authentic Browser Plug-in Enterprise Edition 32-bit version supports Internet Explorer and Firefox.

To activate the Authentic Browser-Plugin Enterprise Edition software for your use, you will need a keycode to unlock the application. Once you purchase a software license, you will receive a license keycode that will activate the software for a term of twelve (12) months (the “ABE License Term”). After this twelve (12) month term, the license keycode will expire and you will need to purchase a new Authentic Browser-Plugin Enterprise Edition software license if you wish to continue to use and distribute the software.

An Authentic Browser-Plugin Enterprise Edition license purchase also includes twelve (12) months of Altova SMP as part of that purchase and entitles you to receive the all of benefits of SMP during the twelve (12) month license term, with one exception. Please note that unlike other Altova software products, you cannot renew SMP for an Authentic Browser-Plugin Enterprise Edition license purchase. At the expiration of the license term and coterminous support period, you will need to purchase a new Authentic Browser-Plugin Enterprise Edition software if you wish to continue to use and distribute the software.
