AltovaXML Community Edition is free, while the advanced AltovaXML Reporting Edition requires a paid license. AltovaXML is a single download that includes the following:
  • XML validating parser
  • XSLT 1.0 engine
  • XSLT 2.0 engine (schema-aware)
  • XQuery 1.0 engine
  • XBRL validation engine
  • Chart rendering in XSLT & XQuery (Reporting Edition exclusively)

  AltovaXML includes COM, Java, and .NET interfaces so that it can be used from a variety of different applications, and you can also call its functionality from the command line.

• Altova has identified what appears to be a major bug in Apache FOP 1.0. As long as it is not fixed, Altova provides a download for FOP 0.95 which was the last stable release. Once this bug is fixed by Apache, a new installer for FOP 1.0 will be provided instead.

  Altova recommends use of version 0.95 of the Apache FOP processor unless you experience memory issues during PDF generation, in which case version 0.93 might be more appropriate.

  To utilize the XSL:FO (Formatting Objects) capabilities of XMLSpy and StyleVision, you need to install an FO processing engine, such as Apache FOP, which is provided in this convenient custom installer package. This will download, install, and configure Apache FOP so that you are ready to use it within XMLSpy and/or StyleVision. Please note that Apache FOP requires an installed Java™ Runtime Environment, and we recommend that you download the latest version from Oracle if you don't have it already installed.

  This is the latest version of the Microsoft XML Parser and XSLT Processor and can be utilized for XSLT transformation within XMLSpy.

Please note: the TrueType fonts installation is only required when Apache FOP processor 0.93 is utilized.
