Altova MapForce: HL7 SupportAltova MapForce® 2012 allows you to visually map to and from HL7 messages both in their legacy EDI format, and the newer XML-based version (3.x). Strong support for HL7 means that members of the healthcare community can seamlessly and efficiently transform incoming and outgoing healthcare transactions to promote accuracy, transparency, and processing speed across disparate information systems. HL7 messages provide a set of standards for the exchange, integration, and retrieval of electronic healthcare records, enabling hospitals, physicians' offices, insurance companies, and other provider organizations to seamlessly share invaluable healthcare data across many different computer systems. There are already a large number of countries that have mandated the use of HL7 for the transmission of healthcare data and there is an expectation that HL7 will become a part of the United State's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the future. MapForce provides built-in support the most current release of HL7. Configuration files for the additional messages covered by the EDIFACT standard, including the previous versions listed below, can be download on the library installer pages. The full lists of X12 transaction sets, EDIFACT messages, and PADIS messages supported are available on separate pages. MapForce also supports SAP IDoc, which requires configuration files to be supplied by the user. Learn more about EDI data integration with MapForce.
