Installing the StyleVision Plugin for Eclipse
Prerequisites
•Eclipse 2021-12, 2021-09, 2021-06, 2021-03 (http://www.eclipse.org).
•A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) for the 64-bit platform
•StyleVision Enterprise or Professional Edition 64-bit
•StyleVision Integration Package 64-bit, available for download at https://www.altova.com/components/download. You can perform the Eclipse integration as part of this installation, as further described below.
| Note: | All the prerequisites listed above must have the 64-bit platform. Integration with older Eclipse 32-bit platforms is no longer supported, although it may still work. |
Installing the StyleVision plug-in for Eclipse
You can perform the integration of the StyleVision plug-in into Eclipse in one of the following ways:
1.Automatically, during the installation of the StyleVision Integration Package (this is the recommended option)
2.Install the StyleVision Integration Package first, and then integrate the plug-in manually from Eclipse
To integrate StyleVision Plug-in for Eclipse:
1.Run the StyleVision Integration Package to start the installation wizard.
2.When prompted, select the Install the Eclipse plug-in option, and then click Next.
3.When prompted to choose how the StyleVision plug-in should be integrated into Eclipse, do one of the following:
•To complete the plug-in installation automatically, select Let this wizard integrate Altova StyleVision plug-in into Eclipse, and browse for the directory where the Eclipse executable (eclipse.exe) is located.
•To complete the plug-in installation later in Eclipse, clear the Let this wizard... check box.
4.Click Next, and complete the installation. If you chose the automatic integration, the StyleVision perspective and menus become available in Eclipse next time when you start Eclipse.
| Note: | Eclipse must be closed while you install or uninstall the StyleVision Integration Package. |
Integrating the StyleVision plug-in for Eclipse manually
1.In Eclipse, select the menu command Help | Install New Software.
2.In the Install dialog box, click Add.
3.In the "Add Repository" dialog box, click Local. Browse for the folder C:\Program Files\Altova\Common2022\eclipse\UpdateSite, and select it. Provide a name for the site (such as "Altova").
4.Repeat the steps 2-3 above, this time selecting the folder C:\Program Files\Altova\StyleVision2022\eclipse\UpdateSite, and providing a name such as "Altova StyleVision".
5.On the Install dialog box, select Only Local Sites. Next, select the "Altova category" folder, and click Next.
6.Review the items to be installed, and click Next to proceed.
7.To accept the license agreement, select the respective check box.
8.Click Finish to complete the installation.
| Note: | If there are problems with the plug-in (missing icons, for example), start Eclipse from the command line with the -clean flag. |
