Topic: Job execution using UNC path
Posted: Tuesday, July 3, 2018 9:59:53 PM
Experts,

I am trying to execute mapforceserver.exe as a command line job; It works as expected when input folder is local drive; however when I change input folder back to UNC path; job fails. It does not provide any details in logs.

I have made sure I have access to UNC path in explorer.

Can you please provide your inputs/solutions/ or alternate way to schedule a job.

Thanks
Topic: Questions related to list-files in for-each step

Experts,

a)

Is it possible to provide multiple extensions in a single loop while processing a folder.

For example:

list-files('*.txt, *.log')

b) Can we create input job parameters and use it in list-files. If not, what are the alternatives.

example: IN_DIRECTORY = *.txt, *.log

and use it as a parameter to list-files

list-files('{IN_DIRECTORY}')

Thanks

Topic: GUID for each file.

EDI (Source) to DB (Target) components mapping.

We are planning to use guid as a referential key accross multiple tables.

I used compute-once property for variable to push guid for different tables.

However, same guid is used across files. Can you please guide me on how to generate new guids for each file mapforce processes

Additional question on this post.

compute-when-once resolves having same guid on multiple fields.

However, how to recreate a new guid for each input file?

Thanks

I meant "generated mapping data" - INSERT statements in Output tab. If I change database configuration in Global resource to point to TRDB1 and generate preview of INSERT statements in output window, all the statements has reference to TRDB1. On changing global resource to point to TRDB2, generated preview in output window still shows TRDB1. Even after reload.

I have not explored command-line options, as suggested, will take a look.

Thanks

What are the best practices for using DB connections in Global Resources.

Created a resouce name r1, and points to TRDB1

Generated mapping data - which points to TRDB1

Changed resource name r1 to point to TRDB2

Even after reload of project, generated data still points to TRDB1, not TRDB2????
