Topic: Compare XML attributes by value
Posted: Monday, July 13, 2009 12:12:02 PM
I'm currently evaluation DiffDog; The program works nicely.

I'm missing a way to compare XML attributes by value.
Example of the same attribute in different XML files:
< .... number="2.4" .... >
< .... number="2.40" .... >
This should by condidered as equal with a 'value' comparison.

Feature request: Please add a 'comparison option' where you can switch on/off a 'value' based attribute comparison.

Best regards

Topic: DB to XML mapping aggregate functions?

Hi Paul

Thank you for your reply. I didn't notice the possibility of writing custom functions in Java or C before... This is a really nice feature!

I'm currently evaluating mapforce and try to define a mapping from a database to XML(XSD).

What I really miss are some aggregate functions like sum, min, max, avg and count. Imagine two tables: order and order_items which I want to map into a single aggregated XML which should contain the number of ordered items and total price of the items (sum).

Is there a way to achieve this in mapforce? how? where are the aggregate functions?
