- Does Authentic® 2008 support XForms?
The main idea behind XForms is the generation of statements which would allow one to edit XML data inside of an HTML page. This would be a very good idea if all the major browsers supported it, however unfortunately the dominant browser on the market, Internet Explorer, does not and it is therefore necessary to rely on extensions such as the Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition. In StyleVision® 2008 it is possible to generate StyleVision® Power Stylesheet (SPS files). StyleVision® Power Stylesheet files are templates based upon schemas or DTDs and must be opened in Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition or Authentic® 2008 Desktop Edition. With a StyleVision® Power Stylesheet template file an end user with little or no knowledge of XML can edit XML files without having to deal with any of the tags or complexities associated with XML. In fact our implementation is much more powerful than that of XForms because editing of free flow text with user-definable styles and automatic tables is supported. There are also no compatibility issues with XForms as the end result is XML which is created in both cases. The StyleVision® Power Stylesheet file must be opened in Authentic® 2008 Desktop Edition or Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition. Authentic® 2008 Desktop Edition and Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition (Active X component) are both freely available.
- How do I create a StyleVision® Power Stylesheet (SPS file) in which child elements can appear in any order?
To preserve the document order of the elements, you need to create "Contents" or "Rest-Of-Contents". In order to design subelement styles you should use the concept of Global Templates (which is very similar to the concept of XSL templates). The Global Templates are listed under the main tree view in StyleVision® 2008. A Global Template will be shown for each global element defined in the schema. The desired template can be activated by clicking on the element name until a "plus" sign appears. For cases in which you desire subelements to appear in any order, or for mixed content models it is essential to use Global Templates. StyleVision® Power Stylesheet can only be created using StyleVision® 2008. - What are the different licensing variations for the Authentic® 2008 Active X component?
The Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition can be used as a browser plug-in, or it can be integrated into your own application. Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition is available as a trusted or nontrusted version. Once you fill out the Authentic® 2008 controls form and accept the DLA you will then receive an e-mail with a link to the download. - Where can I find information on how to setup the Authentic® 2008 Browser Edition?
