A Full-Featured XML and Database Editing Solution

Business users access the Authentic Desktop Edition’s user-friendly WYSIWYG interface directly from a computer on which it has been installed.

End users simply open a StyleVision-designed form in Authentic Desktop to add or edit XML and database data – the XML file or database associated with the Authentic form is automatically updated.

The Authentic Desktop Edition also enables business users to render a form saved as a Portable XML Form™ (PXF™) (see below) in HTML, RTF, PDF, and Word 2007+ formats with the click of a button.

End users can customize both the appearance and functionality of Authentic Desktop via an intuitive dialog box.

PXF – The Industry's First Truly Portable XML Form

Now Altova has made it make it even easier for IT professionals to integrate electronic forms into their applications and for business users to exchange electronic data. All components associated with an Authentic electronic form created in StyleVision can now be embedded in a single file which end users open in Authentic. This greatly simplifies the otherwise burdensome task of sending and installing the multiple files that may be needed to support an Authentic form.

Altova’s Portable XML Form (PXF) is a self-contained file format designed to dramatically increase the portability of all StyleVision designs, Authentic eForms in particular. All of the components associated with a StyleVision design (e.g., XML Schema and instance documents, SPS, XSLT, images, and other external files) are embedded in the PXF file - end users simply open the PXF file in Authentic Desktop and can start editing XML and database data.

The revolutionary new PXF file is the industry’s first truly portable XML form. The PXF file will allow end users to update valid XML documents in Authentic Desktop via a WYSIWYG editing interface, and then send the XML data on to another stakeholder or publish it instantly in multiple output formats – all from a single file accessed in Authentic.

PXF Files Facilitate Data Exchange and Support XML Solutions

PXF files, by making Authentic electronic forms (and their associated XML and database data) even easier to deploy and exchange, can facilitate the implementation of an XML-based solution in a business environment.

With the PXF file format, any business user can update content in valid XML documents and databases in Authentic Desktop and immediately share that data in multiple formats. After a PXF file has been created, it can be transported, downloaded, copied, and saved like any other data file. All of the necessary components are embedded in the PXF file to ensure content is created and saved according to the defined schema through an easy-to-use, WYSIWYG electronic form. End users simply open the PXF file in Authentic Desktop and can begin entering or editing data – all associated files including the XML Schema, SPSs, XSLTs, images, and other external files are embedded in the PXF file.

In addition, when the designer includes the XSLT files auto-generated by the StyleVision design in the PXF, the user’s data can be rendered in XMLSpy and Authentic Desktop as HTML, RTF, PDF, and Word 2007+.
