Altova StyleVision® 2008 is a powerful tool that automates the creation of Authentic® e-Forms, which allow non-technical business users to add content directly into an XML document or a database through its intuitive, user-friendly interface.

StyleVision is used to develop forms displayed in the Authentic view of Altova tools such as XMLSpy® and Authentic, Altova's free WYSIWYG XML and database content editor.

In addition to XSLT and XSL:FO stylesheets and the corresponding HTML, RTF, PDF, and Word 2007 (OOXML) output, your StyleVision design automatically generates an Authentic electronic form. Authentic e-Forms offer an innovative approach to XML and database content editing that completely shields content editors from the underlying technology. Users simply key in data using the word-processor style interface, and their content is automatically written to an XML document or relational database behind the scenes. You can even access and edit XML data stored in databases (currently enabled for IBM® DB2® 9 only). What's more, since Authentic is available under a free license in both desktop and browser editions, you can deploy e-Forms across entire workgroups without having to purchase a software license for each workstation.

This form allows business users to edit the content of XML documents and databases in Authentic. The Authentic form controls the data input and defines how the data should be processed and displayed. StyleVision even allows developers the option of populating combo box values at runtime based on data in the associated XML document or database.
