Sri,

What platform (machine, operating system, Java version) do you intend
to run on? As far as I know, Java by itself does not come automatically
with support for XQuery.

IBM is now having a series of releases of an open beta of XQuery
support with a special API allowing Java code to invoke XQuery services
(as well as XPath and XSLT services). The goal is to have an XML Feature
Pack for Websphere Application Server. For more info, look at:
https://www14.software.ibm.com/iwm/web/cc/earlyprograms/websphere/iwsasfpobp/index.shtml
. IBM's Software Group is very eager to have feedback from real
enterprise users and commercial software developers on the direction we
are going with this.

Note that there are probably other lists for discussion of XQuery
-- this is a mailing list specifically about W3C XML Schema.

                                Good Luck,
                                 Bob
