I am frequently tasked with designing integration software (or software components) and the temptation to use XML technologies is significant. Learning the hard way, I have found that large dat loads or high-performance demands steer me away from XML and toward strategies similar to the author's. Defaulting to XML just because it's exciting and new shouldn't blindly compel us to use it. Sounds obvious, but that author's experience is a perfect example of the mistake. -KPH _______________________________________________________________________ XML-DEV is a publicly archived, unmoderated list hosted by OASIS to support XML implementation and development.
