Names? id|xml:id values yes.
@xml:id='ch1.s3.p3' is quite frequent?

Usual debate about qnames in attribute values perhaps?

Is that an issue Michah?


btw, I like the ideas. I'm less keen on your 'exceptions'.
Can they be justified?

point 4 is rather Western/English specific?

point 5 is distinctly odd and surely at odds with inheritance?
Is this following on from SGMLs minimal typing ideas?
How else is it justifiable?
(Remember the ten rules for XML?)
