The root element has an illegal name. Haven't worked with SAX for some 
time and do not remember the API, but one should be able to easily use a 
custom XMLReader (perhaps a wrapper of the original) or whatever to fix 
this before feeding it to the parser. Or something like that.

I would even dare to say some exception handling could very well do it.
