[ANN] SketchPath XPath Tool Refresh

Hi

SketchPath 2.0.0.1 is now available and has been completely refreshed for XPath 2.0 and is available for free download from http://www.sketchpath.com

SketchPath is an IDE for XPath. Now, I know a specialist full-blown IDE for what is an expression language might seem a bit excessive, but the power of XPath (especially 2.0) warrants it, as I hope you'll agree when you see the product.

If you ever need to use XPath, in XSLT, XQuery, Schematron or any context for that matter, why not give SketchPath a try? If you're an expert, you might not use this tool all the time but it can always be there for when expressions get that much more complex, your schema is updated, or simply managing the sheer number of expressions becomes a chore.

Does your current set of XML tools give XPath the prominence it deserves? Or is your XPath surrounded by non-relevant icons and squeezed in some box in the corner with (perhaps) a tiny bit of colorisation, out of the way, without even predicate-aware intellisense or a dedicated step-through debugger built-in?

(By the way, I'm a big fan of the commercial XML tool suites, and could not be productive without one, its just that they're not always the only answer)

A full feature list, downloads, documentation, screenshots and a screencast are available from the website.

SketchPath uses Saxon 9.0.0.4 from http://www.saxonica.com for XPath 2.0 evaluation and requires .NET 2.0 or later.

Where next for SketchPath? XQuery. But I might need a new name for it then.

Thanks

Phil Fearon
