One Email Too Many

Too busy to delete one email but enough time to insult an entire country
because of one email that you didn't like? Mike, my country and yours have
been ripping themselves to pieces with personal ambition, power politics,
and all the atavisms that presage a descent into barbarism.

Do you really want to be part of that?

It's just bits on the wire. It goes away. Personal and professional
reputations don't recover that quickly. Could we all just chalk this up to
too much caffeine and let it go? It is on the verge of becoming something
very ugly and very destructive.

She's American, remember. Many Americans only recognize two places: America,
and the rest-of-the-world. Some of them recognize the rest of the world only
if it sells Starbucks coffee.
