Coming up with a definition of XML-related topics that are not suitable for discussion here would itself be an endless discussion, and if I was looking for one of these specialist forums, I'd probably go to xml-dev to ask for pointers anyway. While this string XML thing looked pretty silly to me (after a fairly cursory review), I wouldn't say "don't even bring that up here!" Nor did I find Elliotte's response anything to object to.
