Note that there are built-in default templates 
(http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt#built-in-rule) doing


<xsl:template match="*|/">
   <xsl:apply-templates/>
</xsl:template>

so you can omit some of your templates as they do the same as the 
built-in default templates.
