XSL has no idea of output or positioning, it simply converts one form of XML to another form of XML (or optionally, plain text). You would need to output to PDF or HTML with CSS formatting to do that step. 90º rotation is possible using CSS2 properties, but it's not terribly reliable or cross browser supported. PDF output using (for example) a FOP processor is probably your best shot for good output.
