Word 2003
VS2005 (C#)
I am trying to generate a word document from a dataset
The dataset consists of two tables that have a foreign key relationship
I am looking for XSL Transformation with templates to generate this word
document
As I read this, I see the word table is overloaded quite a bit,
Tables in a dataset
Tables in a database
Tables in a word document
I hope that the context will make the meaning clear.
The first dataset table is a list of tables in a database
The second dataset table is a list of columns in the tables and is related
to the first table by the table name column.
This second table includes information about the column such as data type,
nullable, length, Primary Key, Foreign key, etc.
I want to generate an WORD XML file from the dataset and XSLT file or files
Each Database table with columns and associated properites will be in a word
table.
This is used to help document the database.
I wonder if anyone else has done this sort of thing and if you can share
your XSL(T) file
Any WordML generation using XSL would be helpful and appreciated.
I have had some success, but could use some help.
Books I have been studying
XML HACKS (O'Rielly)
Definitive XSLT and XPath (Prentice Hall)
XML in Office 2003 (Prentice Hall)
XML Schema (O'Rielly)
Beginning XSLT (Wrox)
It seems to me that using two or three XSL files would be most efficient, as
the base information for generating a word document would remain the same
for any worrd document
It would also be useful (but not necessary) to transform the dataset into an
HTML page
