Capturing warning messages from Transform()

From: Bob Kline <bkline@---------.------>

I've been asked to investigate the feasibility of porting software
implemented in C++ with an open-source XSL/T package to .NET with the
Framework's XSL/T processor. One problem I've run into is that while
the XSL/T package currently in use allows the program code to register
handlers for error and warning messages created by the script with
xsl:message elements (so they can be logged, rather than spewed out on
the console), I haven't found comparable functionality with XslTransform
(or in the replacement class XslCompiledTransform). Am I looking in the
wrong place? Could some kind soul point me in the right direction for
finding the hooks we need? We've already looked through the MSDN docs
for the old and new classes named above, as well as the data
transformation chapter of Esposito's Microsoft Press book on XML
programming in .NET, but perhaps we weren't reading carefully enough.

Many thanks!

Bob Kline
