Re: Error in XPath Expression

I tried the following code and now its working fine....
sum($values/startValue/text()) but why without text() its not working? 
actually some of the nodes are empty.. like <startValue/> and if i remove 
text() its counting those empty values as 1 and adding and if include that 
then its omiting the empty nodes..

Is it correct?
