Large XML File

From: "Brian Peddle" <brian@------.--->

 I have a large XML document that I need to go through and remove an
element. The xml file is over 600 megs in size. I have tried a variety of
XML read methods to try and load the file but run out of memory.

I need to load the file in, remove an element and then save it out to a new
file or same file. I can't seem to make any progress on this or find any
examples of something similar. Any thoughts?

example would want to remove <year> then save the file.

<vehicles>
<Car>
<make></make>
<model<</model>
<year></year>
</Car>

<Car>
<make></make>
<model<</model>
<year></year>
</Car>

...

</vehicles>
