onreadystatechange - implementing through DOM and delphi

Hello,

I've been racking my brains trying to figure out how to get an event to fire
whenever the ready state changes. I keep getting a type mismatch error as a
result of my UpdateProgress method. I have the following:

procedure TWorkerThread.LoadXMLFile;
begin
  FDOMDoc.onreadystatechange := UpdateProgress;
  FDOMDoc.load(CurrentFile);
end;

function TWorkerThread.UpdateProgress: OleVariant;     // I don't know what
I should put as a return value??
begin
  if Assigned(ProgressBar1) then
    ProgressBar1.StepBy(FDOMDoc.readyState * 25);
end;

I would like to have the progress bar updated by 25 % each time the ready
state changes since the loading process may take a while. Does anyone have a
working delphi example?

Thanks

s
