Hi Chris,

  It all depends :-)  If you're using a docbook-based application to manage
your content and need the robustness of the CALS model for authoring/paper
composition/etc. then you should stick with it. If your tables are fairly
straightforward and HTML tables fit the bill, you should create your
information directly in that format. Those are the only two
widely-recognized, standardized table markup vocabularies that I'm aware of.
A third option is to use a table/record/field type of model that explicitly
describes your information. To the best of my knowledge, all of the editors
that support CALS tables also support HTML tables, so if you don't need the
extra overhead, that's the easiest way to go.
