xsd.exe mess up with related types when not in the same File.
just add
[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElement("Reporting", 
typeof(ReportingMessageElt), Namespace = http://mynamespace/reporting)]

to the Message Property in the generated class and it is working

Before:

[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("Message")]

public MessageBaseElt[] Message

After:



[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("Message")]

 [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElement("Reporting", 
typeof(ReportingMessageElt), Namespace = http://mynamespace/reporting)]

public MessageBaseElt[] Message
