Readable by who?  The need for XML to be readable = lack of appropriate 
tools.

IE does the same.  The MXSML3 dll it has a buried resource which contains an 
XSL file.  In the abscence of a <?xml-stylesheet directive it uses this 
stylesheet to transform the XML to HTML for display.
